Event Description

The Rev. Devon Earle, our Associate Pastor for the last three years, will be ordained on Saturday, June 16 at 7:30pm.  This service will be held at our Virginia Annual Conference at the Hampton Convention Center in Hampton, Virginia.  One’s approval for ordination by the Conference Board of Ordained Ministry comes at the end of at least six years of study, active ministry, tests, paper writing, small groups and interviews.  Congratulations, Devon!

Our church bus is going to travel to Hampton for the ordination service on June 16. There are a limited number of seats available.  You can reserve a seat by calling the church office at (703)671-8557.

On Sunday, June 24 we will honor Devon at receptions held at the end of each worship service.

This Sunday is United Methodist Men’s Sunday. The men are excited to be leading worship and we are delighted that member Paul Winfree will be speaking. Paul is an economist and once wrote a paper while in graduate school about church attendance during times of national crisis, economic recessions, and bad weather (FYI, people are less likely to attend when it’s sunny or raining). Prove him wrong, whatever the weather, by joining us for worship Sunday at 9:30 or 11:00.

We celebrate Fairlington's 5-year anniversary of becoming a Reconciling Congregation, intentionally welcoming all people as beloved children of God.

Our celebratory theme, “Love in All Colors,” reflects the breadth and diversity of God’s human creation as proclaimed in our church’s welcoming statement.

Check out our audio for personal testimonies from FUMC members. They share how being part of a reconciling congregation has personally affected them and shaped their faith journey.
