Our Journey on The Way

Room 110

The Christian faith is a journey, filled with adventure, hope, loss, grace, loneliness, and joy.  Where is God in all of this?  Always present, even in the silence, holding us, teaching us, welcoming us with open arms, and loving us beyond measure.

In this class, we walk the faith together, sharing God’s presence among us, struggling with the questions of faith arising from our journey, and gaining insights from one another.  We read, we watch, we interpret, we discuss, always with our hearts open to hearing and knowing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Facilitator:  Ken Chadwick

Parents- Come As You Are!

Room 111

The challenges of parenting cannot be done alone- this group finds its bond in the gift of parenthood, and discusses the myriad ways we can share with our children the love of God through who we are.  If you know the joy and sorrow of parenting, and want to connect with others who know this too, this class if for you!

Facilitator:  Daphne Miller

The Studio Group

Room 109

The Holy Bible is the story of God’s redemption of humanity through Jesus Christ.  It is our main source of inspiration, direction, and connection to God and one another.  The Studio Group is at its heart a class that studies God’s Word through reflection and discussion.

If you would like weekly in-depth connections to God’s story, you will find it here.  If you would like a space that is an open, accepting, and caring place for you to be, you will find it here.

Facilitator:  Ashley Moore

Find Your Own Way- For Parents

Room 114

Parenting is a great challenge in our lives, and  all of us have a vision of what we want to offer our children.  It is hard though not only because of our own busy lives, but everything going on around us, in our community and our world.  We all need people around us to support us and help us find our way.

The vision for this group is to create a space for us to grow and learn as parents, and to have a space in our lives that is judgement free, confidential, and where we can have some fun together.  If you are a parent, this class is for you.

Facilitators:  Matt and Jen Weronski

This Sunday is United Methodist Men’s Sunday. The men are excited to be leading worship and we are delighted that member Paul Winfree will be speaking. Paul is an economist and once wrote a paper while in graduate school about church attendance during times of national crisis, economic recessions, and bad weather (FYI, people are less likely to attend when it’s sunny or raining). Prove him wrong, whatever the weather, by joining us for worship Sunday at 9:30 or 11:00.

We celebrate Fairlington's 5-year anniversary of becoming a Reconciling Congregation, intentionally welcoming all people as beloved children of God.

Our celebratory theme, “Love in All Colors,” reflects the breadth and diversity of God’s human creation as proclaimed in our church’s welcoming statement.

Check out our audio for personal testimonies from FUMC members. They share how being part of a reconciling congregation has personally affected them and shaped their faith journey.
