By Pastor Devon -- Last Sunday during worship, I asked some of you to share your favorite Bible verses. One of you shared that you treasure Psalm 23, a Psalm your grandmother paid you five dollars to memorize that has now become an important part of your faith. Early in my elementary school years, I remember being rewarded in Sunday School for Bible memorization. I was awarded with a pencil for learning the Lord’s Prayer, a bookmark for memorizing John 3:16, and a sticker for reciting “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” These are important foundations of our faith.

Have you learned by heart the two commandments that Christ named as the greatest: loving God and loving our neighbor? How have these shaped your faith and your understanding of Jesus and the New Testament?

Reconciling Notes

Download Here: Our 5 Year History as a Reconciling Congregation

We celebrate Fairlington's 5-year anniversary of becoming a Reconciling Congregation, intentionally welcoming all people as beloved children of God.

Our celebratory theme, “Love in All Colors,” reflects the breadth and diversity of God’s human creation as proclaimed in our church’s welcoming statement.

Check out our audio for personal testimonies from FUMC members. They share how being part of a reconciling congregation has personally affected them and shaped their faith journey.
