Sunday Adult Classes: 
9:30 am to 10:30 am

C.E. Bell Jr. Bible Class: Room 109
Traditional Bible study is the hallmark of this class. Led by Jim Giddis, the class features a warm and caring atmosphere. This fall, using the International Adult Bible Studies curriculum, they will explore the book of Acts looking at the spread of the Christian church in the Roman Empire. Their theme is "You Will be My Witnesses: in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth." All adults are welcome.

The Followers Forum: Room 114
This class now encompasses the former Seekers class and is composed of married and single adults, aged from the forties to the sixties. This fall the class is looking at Methodist Doctrine, authored by Ted A. Campbell, former professor at Wesley Theological Seminary. This is a good follow up of their summer study of John Wesley. Class members share leadership as they explore many issues impacing their Christian faith. Neal Berry serves as facilitator. You are invited to join them.

Parents' Class 1: Room 110
This group consists of parents, single, married, widowed, or divorced. who have children, from elementary school to teens.  They welcome all parents to become part of their fellowship and support on another in searching for ways to become better Christian parents. This fall they continue a study of "Living Simply," and exploration of how we can live as good stewards of God's earth. Ken Chadwick leads the class. All parents are welcome to join this class.

Parents' Class 2: Room 111
This class is designed for parents of young children, and explores parenting of and modeling spirituality for young children.  This fall the are reading "The Good Enough Child." This book written a few years ago explores how to find satisfaction in your family life, even if you don't have what society considers the perfect child. They are a caring and supportive group for all who join them, whether you are a married, single or sole parent. Daphne Miller leads the class, which invites all parent of young children to join them.





TNT (Twenties and Thirties): Parlor
This class invites all young adults -  20s and 30s - to join them. This fall they will begin a study of The Screwtape Letters, by C.S. Lewis, one of the classics of Christian literature. Erika Larsen facilitates this class, but many of its members share leadership. You are invited to join them at any time and to come, as you are able. 

 

Other Adult Classes

Thursday Morning Bible Study: Rm 109   
All adults are invited to join this group for Bible Study, which, this fall, will begin a Disciple I Bible Study. Since they meet for only one hour and 15 minutes, their study will be longer than the traditional 32 weeks, but also less intense in terms of preparation. Mitzi Manning is now facilitating the class. Call Judie Elder, 703-751-2558, for more information. Join us on Thursday mornings at 10:45 am in Room 109.

Disciple Bible Studies

Disciple and Jesus In the Gospels are intensive 34-week Bible studies, which require a commitment o outside reading the preparation and active class participation. You will be richly rewarded for your participation in any of these studies. 

Disciple I takes place on Sunday evenings, beginning on October 2, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, in Room 112. Don Lenk newly trained Disciple leader, will lead this class.

Disciple III takes place on Tuesday nights, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, in Room 112, beginning September 20. Veteran teacher, Mitzi Manning will lead this class. 

Jesus in the Gospels 
Mondays - 7:30 pm                 Room 112 
The second generation Disciple Bible study, takes place on Monday nights, from 7:30 to 9:30 pm, in Room 112. Newly trained teachers, Mauro Cooper and Laurie Willshire, will lead this class. All adults are welcome to take Disciple I, but you should have completed Disciple I to either of the other two classes.
