Volunteers in Mission
The Volunteers in Missions Program offers a unique opportunity for FUMC members to join a work team of members from other churches in building churches, housing or facilities at locations worldwide. The Alexandria District sponsors specific international VIM projects. FUMC selects the District VIM trips and also sponsors at least one domestic VIM trip each year. Fairlington Members have participated in VIM trips to Poland, Zimbabwe, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, Russia, India, Florida, and Georgia. Fairlington teams have also participated in one-day trips to Madison County, VA, for flood relief.
Volunteers Needed: Team members for building projects in the U.S. and other nations, generally 7-14 days in the summer.
