Pentecost Sunday/Youth Sunday

The church has always been a presence in my life.  Some of my earliest memories are of Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Children’s Church. Then came Confirmation, and serving as an acolyte and coming to worship. In all of this, I came to realize that the Holy Spirit was always with me. As a teenager, I struggle most days to wake up and get out of bed and get going. However, one of my biggest motivators is that…See More

From Pastor Mary Beth: What Do We Believe About Jesus Christ?

In 2014, the musicians at Hillsong, a megachurch in Australia, were asked by John Dickson to write a song based on the Apostle’s Creed. John said, “I just thought a song that really was reminiscent of the Apostles’ Creed, that covered its main points, would be a beautiful way of calling modern churches to reflect on the foundation of the faith that unifies us.” Months later the music leaders, Hillsong United, produced a…See More

From Pastor Mary Beth: Gather at the Table: The Food’s Better Together

My father-in-law, Bob Blinn, was a man for whom mealtime was important. And while he enjoyed the food, it was more about the company. There were the birthday lunches, one-on-one time eating out with a grandchild. There was breakfast at the deli down the street with friends from the neighborhood. The most special times were when the twenty of us in the family, growing to more than thirty over the years, would gather for…See More

As a teenager, I struggle most days to wake up and get out of bed and get going. However, one of my biggest motivators is that God is telling  me that I have a purpose and that there is a reason I should get up. Throughout the day, I often feel the Holy Spirit filling me and urging me onward. A clear example was this past weekend when I was competing with my crew team in the Virginia State Championships.

We pulled up to the starting line, and I quietly prayed that the race would go smoothly and that we would be able to win.. After a rough start, I could feel the tension in the…

Download Here: Our 5 Year History as a Reconciling Congregation

We celebrate Fairlington's 5-year anniversary of becoming a Reconciling Congregation, intentionally welcoming all people as beloved children of God.

Our celebratory theme, “Love in All Colors,” reflects the breadth and diversity of God’s human creation as proclaimed in our church’s welcoming statement.

Check out our audio for personal testimonies from FUMC members. They share how being part of a reconciling congregation has personally affected them and shaped their faith journey.
